Training and Experience As A Psychologist In San Francisco

I am a San Francisco–based licensed psychologist, psychoanalytic therapist, clinical supervisor, and published author with more than 20 years of experience providing psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and groups. In my private practice, I specialize in depth-oriented, relational psychotherapy and psychoanalysis, helping patients address anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, identity development, and life transitions. My approach integrates contemporary psychoanalytic theory with practical, individualized care to support lasting emotional growth and psychological well-being.

My clinical research and writing focus on cultural trauma and the intergenerational transmission of trauma and resilience. I explore how family systems, unconscious processes, and sociocultural influences shape mental health across generations. This expertise informs my work with patients seeking therapy for trauma, attachment issues, and complex relational patterns, making my practice a resource for those looking for insight-oriented therapy in San Francisco.

I have served as adjunct clinical faculty at the Wright Institute, where I trained graduate students in clinical psychology and provided supervision for developing therapists. I continue to offer clinical supervision and consultation to mental health professionals across the Bay Area, with a focus on psychoanalytic psychotherapy, case formulation, and ethical practice. I also lecture on topics such as mental health, individuation, trauma, and relational dynamics.

My professional training includes extensive experience in community mental health clinics, outpatient treatment centers, and wellness organizations, as well as advanced study at leading American and European psychoanalytic institutes. This diverse background allows me to provide culturally responsive, trauma-informed therapy tailored to the needs of a diverse San Francisco clientele searching for an experienced psychologist or psychoanalytic therapist.
